Felix the Cat

My kids have a new fave cartoon they found on Netflix it is Felix the Cat from like 1958.But I love it because the cartoons from that era are more pure at any rate they are happy. They build puppets and puppet stages to put on puppet shows for the family when Daddy gets home from work.I think Pizza is order for dinner my mom got on my about it it is like she is the weight police.I know I am overweight I know I have a problem but today could you just let me get thru in survival mode with a sick baby.Ah well I will be the little engine that could well a load of diapers are calling to be washed and that cat box won't clean itself so signing off for now.

Mothers day reflections

Today I am thankful!January 2002 I found out I was going to be a mommy and my life hasn't been the same since. The little bright eyed blonde baby girl that made me a mommy Larissa Hope is sitting on the couch working on her math. The curious browneyed girl that just couldn't wait to meet this world and came into it 6 weeks early Natalie Joy is playing with her brother. And the little miracle that showed me a different albeit wonderful side to mother hood Joshua Andrew Lee is busy pulling something he shouldn't be off the shelf. And I look down at my shirt and realize I have baby poop on it from the latest diaper change but I am thankful.Love being a mom!!!!Thank you Larissa,Natalie and Joshua you are my world and my miracles.

I am at peace and healing

I am thankful this week for the hand of my wonderful doctor who knew that even though I had to make a tough decision it was the best decision for me.My body hadn't been healthy for months someone said to me that it was not because of bleeding that I chose not to camp last summer but the truth is I am in a season of healing.Getting those things called hormones under control, learning how to be a strong healthier mommy who loves Jesus. That said I have the worlds best family. My hubby stepped up to the plate big time with laundry and dishes and food.We made it thru.My God will supply all my needs according to his riches and glory.I am still faced with sad twinges that my body will never birth again but sometimes the answers that God has aren't necessarily the answers we choose.
I am thankful and on the road to recovery.

Learning about Wool

The more I learn about wool the more I want it.I just bought Josh's first night time diaper I have tried countlessly to make the usual pockets work but they just don't for naptime and bedtime. So I am waiting anxiously for his first Pianissimo Fitted to arrive .I have heard raves about these diapers and the fact that they have 14 layers which should go a long way to keeping Josh dry.
I also got my first pair of shorties recently for Josh thinking they will be great this summer. The shorties like the fitted I got from Mama's on diaper swappers. Shout outs going to crunchymom2b and Luvinmy4boys there.
In addition I also purchased a fleece soaker from The Juniper Cottage. Her facebook is facebook.com/TheJuniperCottage.Looking forward to that one coming in the mail too.
I have alot to learn but here is where Cloth Diaper Addiction comes in.All her helpful information has made me more eager to try Wool.I was intimidated cause they take a little more care than what just using a Pocket Diaper at night does.
If you are thinking about checking into Wool I encourage you to visit Cloth Diaper Addictions blog

She is holding some fabulous giveaways til March 30,2011 you can tell her that Missy at thebusinessofmommyhood.blogspot.com sent you.

Hang on take a deep breath and grow

That is what the Lord is teaching me right now.Hang on ......I think I have been doing that since Josh was born 10 months ago.I am clinging to God's promise that we are only on this earth but for a moment and the ultimate healing will come with eternity.Hang on to the promise that he will see Ken and I thru every challenge we are facing as parents and in our marriage.Just hang on Missy that is all you have to do .Take a deep breath...........I have done that alot with Josh's diagnosis we have done a lot of take a deep breath and waiting on God. Take a deep breath ........soon we will finally have an idea of how well Josh can hear.Take a deep breath.............today Missy please let me Handle everything love God.Breath..........Missy breath it will be okay even though it may not seem okay today.Breath......stop being the control freak you know you want to be.Grow..........I have done alot of that in the last few years I think that I have grown in my love for Ken,for God and most of all grown in being a mom I feel more mature after just the start of our microtia journey. In conclusion it is going to be okay.

More fluff mail on the way !More reviews to come

I just bought Josh two new diapers I could not really pass up a deal.Cotton Babies had their AIO Bum Genious Brights for $9.95 so I got Josh two new larges in Ribbit and Clementine.I can't believe my little guy is big enough to wear a Large diaper sniff sniff.I will review when I get them and I am also planning and on getting the Bum Genious Eiffel Tower in the Artist series so I will let you know how I like them.I find the Hook and Loop work better on a squirmy older baby and Josh likes to wiggle plus Ken is more likely to use a cloth diaper if it is hook and loop whereas snap forget about it.

Blueberry diapers

I got my first Blueberries thru a friend of a friend that was destashing. We started out with the Cow print minkee,Fire Opal Minkee,Orange Minkee, and a basic Aqua Blueberry. The minkees have Aplix or Velcro and the Basic has snaps.First of all these are my night time solution .I stuffed them til recently with a Thirsties hemp contour insert and 3 microfiber doublers. All the sudden J has become a heavier wetter and needs more absorbancy.I have added a fun Blueberry in a Blue dot print from Diaper swappers recently and I am loving it.
These diapers fit great everywhere give J lots of wiggling room and are just overall a great diaper. There is one downside and that is the cost they are more spendy than some pocket diapers. They run about $25 a diaper.I would definitely say they are worth the investment.
They get my seal of approval and rank among the top diaper in our stash.I give them a 5 out of 5.

Kushies diapers

My friend Ann gave me a Kushies diaper to try that she got on Ebay.First off I have to say I was a little skeptical cause I immediately noticed how plastic and stiff the diaper felt. The way a diaper feels on the outside and the way it moves on my now mobile and crawling 9.5 month old is super important to me.J needs something that can accomodate how much J is moving now.It did quilt up very nice on the inside it was super soft for J to wear from that standpoint.
Another big issue was the leg holes.Josh has super chubby hips and upper thighs so they left red marks on his poor little legs.Plus they were so wide that he peed right out the side.
The one plus of this diaper was the velcro tabs they stayed put after I put the diaper on him and also when I fastened them in the wash they didn't create a diaper train. If you have mostly aplix or velcro diapers like I do then you know what I am talking about.
Overall on my ratings system of 5 points I give this a 2 points out of 5.I definitely won't reach for it as my first choice but rather as a backup so I don't have to use a sposie when everything is in the wash.
